What should a good coworking space include?
The short list of things that decide whether a workspace is usable — and the long list of extras that rarely matter.
The non-negotiables
Internet that holds a video call at four in the afternoon. Power that survives an interruption. A chair you can sit in for six hours. A desk at the right height with a socket within reach. Air conditioning that reaches your seat. Clean washrooms.
Miss any one of these and no amount of design compensates.
The things that make a day work
Somewhere to take a call without disturbing anyone. A meeting room you can actually book. Tea and coffee. A lounge that is not the same seat as your desk. Reception to receive your guests and your couriers. Printing when you need it.
These are the difference between a room with desks and a workplace.
The extras that rarely decide anything
Table football, themed rooms and events calendars are pleasant and almost never the reason someone stays or leaves. Judge a space on the boring infrastructure first; the character is a bonus on top of that, not a substitute for it.
